Had an awesome weekend at Camano Inn. Had a private room with amazing view of the water and a personal hot tub. Got to bird watch through out the day spotting sea lions, harbor seals, eagles and ample water fowl. The bedding is cozy and the common areas give you plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy a different atmosphere. Hot self serve breakfast in the morning.

Camano Island, Washington: Pristine Island in Puget Sound

Blue herons and other shorebirds wander the shoreline of Camano Island, a pristine island in the middle of Puget Sound. The area is home to seals, sea otters, and eagles, as well as orca and california gray whales in the early spring. Camano Island feels like a secluded hideaway, but thanks to a bridge at the northern tip of the island, getting here is a cinch. It’s just a one-hour drive from Seattle. On the way in, stop at Camano Island Marketplace to pick up locally roasted coffee and artisan foods.

The island harbors two state parks: Camano Island State Park, a 6,700-foot stretch of shoreline with great shellfishing, and Cama Beach State Park, which contains a refurbished 1930s fishing camp. Both parks are open year-round.

This place is a wonderful weekend getaway. The island is a beautiful, small town that has some great restaurants (live music at the pub on Saturday’s), art, golf, and tons of state beaches to visit. The inn is a wonderful place to come back to after a day of exploring to watch the sunset. Pick a room with a deck hot tub; they’re fantastic to watch the sunset in. Staff are very friendly.

The room was fabulous! The staff were so wonderful and helpful! They showed us around as soon as we got there, made sure all our questions were answered! The breakfast was the perfect size! One day was sausage, eggs and French toast. The second day was bacon, quiche and toast. All served with fresh fruit and freshly baked scones! Room was great and private! Hot tub fit my husband and I (both ~6ft)
