About Clipper House Inn
The Clipper House Inn owners David Skinner and Kristen Hopper have traveled the world for more than 20 years and they’ve got more than enough souvenirs to prove it. The inn is filled with their antiques and treasures, each item finding a place in a private cottage. All cottages are modeled after clipper ships, the superfast multimast vessels that transported goods from all over the globe in the 19th century. The Mont Blanc has a touch of the French countryside in its yellows and blues. The Challenge, which looks like a master stateroom with italian-travertine flooring, a crystal chandelier, and an antique claw-foot tub in the bathroom.
The inn is looked after by Kristen’s parents, Barbara and Jerry Hopper, and has built a reputation for helping guests plan custom trips. There’s plenty to do in Kemah. Visitors’ favorites include the city’s boardwalk and Restaurant Row and the nearby Space Center Houston. If you just want to sit and relax, however, you don’t have to go far for entertainment. Onsite, there’s Clear Creek Winery, Vineyard & Resort and a farm-to-table restaurant, Tabella.
