Thai Island-Hopping West Tour for Ages 18–35
Thailand’s islands are blessed with gorgeous beaches and rocky cliffs; recently they’ve been augmented with some excellent restaurants and wild nightlife. You’ll visit three of them on this 9-day trip, which includes orientation tours and lots of free time for relaxation and exploration. A trip manager will be on hand to give recommendations and lead activities. Each option includes:

Days 1–3: Phuket
Your trip starts in Phuket, Thailand’s largest island. On your first night, you’ll head out on the town to experience the buzzy bright atmosphere of Phuket’s bars and clubs.
- Visit with apes at the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project, which aims to protect the primates and return them to the wild.
- Eat some authentic pad thai and curry at one of the countless restaurants on the island.
- For a dose of history: Explore the architecture of Phuket Town, which is laced with Chinese influences. Or visit the 150-foot-high Big Buddha that oversees the island.
- Experience natural beauty on Phuket’s west coast with a tour of the area’s caves and dramatic coastlines, marked by funky limestone karst formations. Ko Tapu, at Ao Phang Nga National Park, was featured in the James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun.
Days 4–6: Koh Phi Phi
The Leonardo DiCaprio film The Beach was filmed at Koh Phi Phi, your second stop on the trip. Your tour manager will meet you upon arrival for an orientation tour, then you’ll have two days of free time to explore on your own.
- Optional activity: Get the lay of the land with a cruise around Phi Phi island. It will take you past Maya Bay, filming location for The Beach, as well as to Monkey Beach, which is as advertised full of monkeys.
- Watch the sunset over the sea: Your group will head to the highest spot on the island for a gorgeous view of the sun setting into Andaman Sea.
Days 7–8: Krabi
From Koh Phi Phi, you’ll take an afternoon ferry to Krabi, one of the most famous tourist destinations in Thailand. It still has a small-town feel, though, with lovely, unspoiled beaches.
- Ao Nang: This small beach town is your first stop. Use your free time to explore downtown or go for a massage on the beach (extra fees).
- Tiger Cave temple: Climb 1,260 steps to the top for a beautiful view of the island.
- Secluded beach: Rai Leh beach is only accessible by boat. Hire a long-tail boat operator to get here and you’ll find gorgeous rocky cliffs.
Day 9: Return to Phuket for Return Flight Home
