Private Townhomes Overlooking Marina

The newly built Coral Beach Club is a stunning example of modern architecture. From afar, the beachside complex looks like a cluster of neatly stacked, stark white cubes. Up close, you’ll find that there’s a lot more to the design—tiered balconies, intersecting terraces, and ultramodern gazebos. There are a dozen or so villas along the beach and seven townhouses right next door, facing a picturesque marina.

From the private terrace of your own two-story townhouse, you can watch the sailboats as they coast into Oyster Pond Marina. The fully equipped, super-sleek kitchen is perfectly suitable for light snacks or banquet meals with the St. Maarten’s Council of Ministers. The kitchen shares an open configuration with the living room, a light-filled space with contemporary, cream-colored furnishings. Upstairs, the chic master and guest bedrooms feature Japanese-style platform beds and open directly onto private patios over the marina. From the townhouse front door, you’re only a few steps to the soft sands of Dawn Beach and the onsite Big Fish Seafood Grill & Hurricane Bar.

St. Maarten: Tropical Island with Stellar Diving and Snorkeling

A tiny island 190 miles east of Puerto Rico, St. Maarten is divided right across the middle into French and Dutch territory. The Museum St. Maarten in Philipsburg, just a few minutes away from Coral Beach Club, documents the 350-year relationship between the Dutch, French, and islanders.

St. Maarten is a major scuba destination, thanks to its offshore reefs and well-preserved shipwrecks. If you’re interested in diving, ask a Coral Beach Club staffer for a recommended scuba shop. The island’s beaches, however, are the undisputed main attraction. Coral Beach Club is situated on the Atlantic side of the island, but if you’re interested in checking out one of the Caribbean beaches, take a short taxi to the island’s west side and check of Friar’s Beach or Grand Case.
