7- or 9-Night Cruise in the Western Caribbean

Board the luxurious Costa Deliziosa in Fort Lauderdale and cruise out on the Caribbean Sea for a 7- or 9-night voyage. The ship is full of diversions, from a solarium with three swimming pools and four hot tubs to several gourmet restaurants and bars. At each port of call, you’ll have time to get acquainted with the local culture and take optional side trips curated by Costa Cruises (fees apply). The cruise includes:

  • 7 or 9 nights of accommodations in an inside cabin, outside cabin, veranda cabin, or mini suite

Below is the 7-night itinerary. If you are interested in the 9-night itinerary and shore excursions please click here.

Days 1–2: Departure

Your ship departs from Fort Lauderdale at 11 p.m. and starts on its southwesterly course toward Costa Maya, Mexico.

Day 3: Costa Maya, Mexico

The picturesque resort town of Costa Maya is your first port of call. You’ll have time to lounge on the beaches or, for an additional fee, venture off for a snorkeling excursion.

  • Laguna Bacalar is called “the lake of seven colors” for the deep green and aquamarine hues you can see in the sunlight. If you stick around for the sunset, you can see its pink and orange hues reflected on the water.
  • Go snorkeling: Costa Maya is known for its underwater coral gardens. Dive in at Punta Placer to see wild sea turtles and tropical fish swimming amid the bright-yellow and deep-purple coral.

Day 4: Belize

The temperature rises as the ship sails further south to Belize City’s main port. Here, you’ll have the day to pick up souvenirs and sample lobster curry at one of the local restaurants.

  • Cave tubing: Float through underground caves and beneath the dripping limestone stalactites that are part of the Caves Branch River.
  • Visit the Belize Zoo to see wild ocelots and jaguars in their natural habitat.

Day 5: Roatán, Honduras

On Day 5, you’ll cruise to Roatán, a tropical island off the eastern shores of Honduras.

  • Ride in a glass-bottom boat and watch tropical fish dart back and forth beneath the clear waters.
  • Carambola Botanical Gardens: Spend some time on land hiking through 40 acres of fruit trees, exotic plants, and rare orchids.

Day 6: Grand Cayman Islands

The last leg of the cruise takes you to Grand Cayman, a tourist-friendly blend of modern shops and restaurants and water recreation. Make the most of your time here by visiting a local sea turtle farm or indulging in a syrupy slice of rum cake downtown.

  • Stingray City: You can see, touch, and swim with stingrays in the middle of the ocean.
  • See historic shipwrecks on a snorkeling excursion.

Days 7–8: Cruise back to Fort Lauderdale

You’ll arrive back in Fort Lauderdale on the morning of Day 8.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What travel documents are required?
The WHTI proposed rules require U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the Department of Homeland Security. Costa Cruise Lines requires the approved travel document to be valid until 14 days after the scheduled return date of travel. For a list of approved documents please visit: http://travel.state.gov. Children 17 years of age and under must also present a valid passport, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the Department of Homeland Security.

2. What are the gratuities onboard?
Cruises departing from the U.S.: $12.00 USD per guest 15 years of age and older, per day for all cruise lengths. Guests between the ages of 4 and 14 will be charged 50% of the above rate. There is no service charge for guests under the age of 4. The service charge is used by the company as an incentive for staff who perform hotel duties and to continually improve the quality of service offered on board Costa ships. The service charge is an integral part of the total price of the cruise and therefore the amount cannot be altered.

3. Is Internet service available onboard?
WIFI: Guests on board who have their own device - laptop or PDA - can purchase credits, or pay per use packages, directly from the onboard portal. The cost will be included in the on board bill, payable at the end of cruise.

4. Does my child need a Groupon?
Passengers traveling together as two guests in the same cabin will each require a Groupon regardless of age. If the child is a third passenger sharing a cabin, please call Costa Reservations at 1-800-462-6782 to request special pricing.

5. When will I receive my Cruise documents?
Guests will receive their Cruise documents (E-Docs) 30 days prior to sailing via email. The booking must be paid in full and Costa’s Web Check-In must be completed in order for guests to receive their E-Docs. Please visit Costa’s website, costacruise.com, to review required Web Check-in data and the Passage Ticket Contract, which governs the passengers legal rights.
