Q:

Hi - What airline is used? Is a day lost on the switch to Sydney from the Cook Islands? Could we do this trip at the end of August beginning of Sept 2013? f so, what is the price? And, if we wanted to spend two more nights in Sydney, but at a different hotel (paid for by us), could we still get your flight home at the same price?

Diane B.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

Hi Diane, we use Air New Zealand for this package. A day is lost when you travel from the Cook Islands to Sydney as you cross the international date line. This package is not available for August or September travel, however, we would be more than happy to price out something similar for you. Please email us at info@airnzvacations.com with your travel dates and we can provide you with a quote - thanks!

Q:

Hi agan - I looked on the Radisson web page and they give a price of $370 U.S. (includes VAT) per night for a double room with breakfast during March. Why do you quote $470/night for extra nights?

Diane B.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

Hi Diane, we would be more than happy to look at matching this website rate for you. Please email us with your specific travel dates to info@airnzvacations.com - thanks!

Q:

None of the dates for this trip work for me. Is it possible to do over Thanksgiving week 2013?

Todd C.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Hi Todd, Thanks for your question. This particular offer is for travel in Feb and Mar but we can certainly price out a package for you for November. Please contact us at 800-886-9886 for more information.

Q:

How much extra per day to extend the time in Sydney (double room)? Also, how much extra $$ to fly from NY? Would we have to stay overnight in LAX once we arrive her form NY, or do we leave the day we arrive in LAX ? What time is the flight out of LAX? Thanks.

Diane B.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Hi Diane, Thanks for your inquiry. It is $470 per night for the Sydney hotel and breakfasts. And for the flights from NY it is currently $455 per person for those flights. You would not need to overnight in Los Angeles, you would continue onto the Cook Islands on that same day. The flight from Los Angeles departs at 11:45pm. Please call us at 800-886-9886 and we will be happyt to check availability for the dates you are looking for.

Q:

Hi: Could we substitute Melbourne for Sydney?

Brent W.  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Hi Brent. Thank you for you inquiry. The simple answer to your question is yes, you could visit Melbourne instead of Sydney. However, as there is no direct flight between the Cook Islands and Melbourne, you would have to change aircraft in Sydney to fly on to Melbourne. To further discuss options, please contact us and we'd be happy to review possible scenarios for you!

Q:

I actually have 2 questions. #1 Is the cost of $4,698 the total cost for 2 people to to fly and stay @ hotels or is that just one person?? I don't know if the $999.00 is to cover additional person and if you don't have additional person you still pay and it's called the solo fee?? #2 How much is it for 2 people to take trip flying out of Pittsburgh??

Debra S.  asked on  Feb 7, 2013

A:

Hi Debra, The price for two people is $3699 X 2 = $7398. The $999 price you refer to is if you are traveling alone (total for one person $4698). The add-on for travel from Pittsburgh would be an additional $370/person. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks

Q:

Sorry--one more question. Looking at the website for the Cook Islands resort, it seems like a couples-only place. Is that right? I ask because I'd likely be traveling alone.

Barbara C.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

Hi Barbara, the Crown Beach Resort & Spa certainly attracts couples, but you would be very comfortable traveling as a single. There are many things to see and do in the Cook Islands and our staff would be more than happy to recommend some activities that would have you with groups of people during the day should you wish. Please give us a call on 1855 550 8802 or emails info@airnzvacations if we can assist you further - thanks!

Q:

Is there additional cost to fly from Houston (IAH)

Lou K.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Hi Lou, yes there is an additional cost to fly from Houston. The published add-on with Air New Zealand is $350 per person round-trip, though we can often secure a better deal getting a ticket separately. Depending on your travel date, I found flights at low as $300 per person. We'd be delighted to give you the exact amount if you provide us a date you are interested in traveling. Please email us for further information at info@airnzvacation.com. Thanks for your interest!

Q:

I think this is my last question: On the day of arrival in Sydney, what time does that flight get in? And what is the time difference between Cooks Island and Sydney? I'm basically wondering if there's time/energy to see anything that day or if I should just think of it as a travel day. Thanks again.

Barbara C.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Hi Barbara, no problems! You do arrive into Sydney in the evening, at 8:05pm, so I would consider this a travel day. Sydney is around 21 hours ahead of the Cook Islands, and you cross the international date line during your flight (although the flight itself is just over 7 hours). Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Thanks!
