Fenelon Falls, Ontario: Lake Life Close to Toronto
Fenelon Falls is a little town in Ontario dwarfed on either side by massive Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake. It’s mainly a tourist town; only 1,800 people live here year-round, but its population swells enormously when the weather warms up. Visitors come to hike, swim, and fish (bass, muskie, and walleye are common catches).
You’ll find unique shops and restaurants on Fenelon Falls’ quaint main street. Don’t miss a stop at the Horseless Carriage Museum, where you can see antique modes of transportation, such as a penny-farthing bicycle, a steam traction engine, and five early cars that are more than 100 years old. If you’re up for a day trip, drive two hours to the bright lights of Toronto, where you’ll find art galleries, museums, and high-end designer shops.
