Q:

I'm torn between choosing the July and August options. Is it feasible to purchase one and adjust if something comes up, or is the purchase in stone for that particular month? ...especially since both months are the same price. Thank you!

Hello Kate, yes you can move your dates if your travel plans change...as long as there is availability for the new week that you want. If you purchase a voucher for July then find out that a week in August works better, just let us know and we'll move you to the different month. If you choose to move to a high month, you would just pay the difference. If that doesn't answer your question, give us a call at 800-390-3292 and we'll clarify this for you.

Q:

We are travelling as a family group to Italy. There will be 3 adults and 2 children, ages 8 and 4, with a possible 2 other adults. Will it be possible for 1 adult and the 2 children to stay in the same room (we understand that the children may not be partaking in the cooking classes), one bed would be fine? If possible, would each child still have to purchase a Groupon for the total amount?

A:

Hello Dorothy, unfortunately this is one of those tour packages that doesn't work well with small children. We try hard to allow kids the opportunity to experience the cooking aspect of our tours, but we also have to be considerate of the adults who view this as a once-in-a-lifetime trip. For this particular package, the youngest children we can accommodate have to be at least 10 years of age...just to stay at the palazzo. We encourage 14+ for the cooking classes, but can make exceptions for highly motivated kids. The cooking classes can last up to 3 hours, with most being about 2 hours...so children tend to get restless and tired halfway through. I wish I had better news for you. Q:

I see that one date has 40 bought. How do you work that? I see that there is a maximum of 14 per class.

A:

Hello Darlene, the purchase options are by "month" not by week. The date you see that has 40 bought is for the whole month of May. Also, if someone purchases a Groupon Voucher for a particular month, then finds out that the week they want to travel is full, they can reserve their next available choice, regardless of which month it is in...or they can request a refund. In other words, there's no need to get a refund for your May voucher if you decide that the best month to travel is July or August...etc. We will accept your voucher for the next best available date.

Hello Marc, no there are no restrictions or special requirements imposed by Epitourean. Also, if something disrupts your travel plans, we can move your dates so that you don’t lose out on the special discount. Please keep in mind that my comments relate to Epitourean’s cancellation policy. Groupon might have other conditions that could apply, so you should read their cancellation policy, and if you have further questions, contact Groupon Customer Support. For example, if you have made a confirmed reservation with Epitourean by providing your Groupon Redemption Code in order to guarantee a room for your preferred travel dates, your options may be limited to full credit for future travel. This is actually a great “travel protection” option that we offer at no cost. It allows you to change your travel plans up to 30 days prior to arrival so that you don’t lose the opportunity to enjoy this incredible tour…at this incredible price. Whether you request a refund or move your tour dates to another time period, you can feel confident in your travel purchase.

Q:

A few issues I need help with, please: (1) How is the transport co-ordinated from the airport to the villa upon arrival? Is there a "set" time for the ground transport? (2) If we continue our stay in Italy (Rome) after this, and do NOT book the extension through Epitourean, are we still entitled to free land transfer back to the Rome area - are there limitations to this availability? (3) I see that some rooms have two twin beds ... are my husband and I assured of getting a room with a bed to share if I purchase 2 Groupons? Thanks much!

Hello Penelope, yes the ground transportation is provided in this package, and we pick everyone up at the Rome Airport (FCO) between 11 AM and Noon on Sunday. The following Saturday we have everyone back at the airport by Noon. If you decide to stay in Italy after your tour ends, we will return you to the airport as part of your ground transfers. From the airport it is quite easy to get into Rome, either by train or by taxi. When making your reservations with Epitourean, simply request one bed. Most rooms have Queen beds or European King which can convert to two twins.

Hello Jan, as of this writing, we still have one room left in the third week of October, and we have several rooms left in the fourth week. However, I would definitely call our customer service center at 800-390-3292 in order to place a hold on the week you would like to travel. Room are going fast for the premium travel weeks. Also, in response to your second question, in most cases we can accommodate a request for two beds…just make that clear when you make your official reservation with Epitourean. I hope you can join us…the end of October, first of November is fabulous. You get to take advantage of the harvest season!

Q:

Can you further explain your cancellation policy? It says: "Cancellation policy & fees: 30-day cancellation notice required or fee up to Groupon price applies." Does this mean I can get a full refund as long as I cancel 30 days BEFORE the actual tour begins, OR 30 days from when I RESERVE the tour, OR? And, what do you mean by: "...or fee up to Groupon price applies."? This looks wonderful, but it is so hard to say what my life will be like in July or August of NEXT year. Thank you!

Hi Doug, yes, you can get a refund outside of 30 days of your trip, but anything inside 30 days will require a fee, which will be the amount you paid for the voucher.

A:

Hello Dorothy, yes the tax is calculated on the discounted rate you pay Groupon. That rate is 10% of the discounted price, which is roughly $189. That amount is collected at the time of your official reservation, and is paid directly to Epitourean.

Hello Kate, the following weeks are scheduled for July and August, 2014…and are already booking up. We still have availability for these weeks, but since some are booking up faster than others, I would call Epitourean at 800-390-3292 to place a hold on a room for the week you would prefer to travel. We can hold a room for 24 hours while you purchase your Groupon Voucher. July Weeks include: July 6-12, 2014; July 13-19, 2014; July 20-26, 2014; July 27-August 2, 2014. August weeks include: August 17-23, 2014; August 24-30, 2014; August 31 – Sept. 6, 2014.
