Q:

Are there wheelchair accessible accomodations with ROLL IN SHOWERS?

Susan c.  asked on  May 19, 2013

A:

Hello Susan, unfortunately many of the Palazzos, Villas and Chateaus we use throughout Europe were built many years ago with little regard to the needs of those people with a handicap. The lodging we use in Umbria has made accommodations for handicap persons in their common areas, such as restaurants, but has not updated the rooms and bathrooms to accommodate wheelchairs. I wish I had better news for you.

JACQUELINE D.  asked on  May 19, 2013

A:

Hello Jacqueline, at this late date in the sale I am unable to provide availability through the Forum. However, if you contact us at 800-390-3292 or customerservice@epitourean.com we will have immediate access to our availability charts.

Q:

My sister and I are interested in booking this trip together. I am confused on the need to book 2 in order not to pay the extra$500. She is not a member yet but I just referred her today and she is signing up. That way we each can use our own credit cards. Does the trip have to be booked by one persons groupon account or can we each have our own but be traveling together?

jan O.  asked on  May 17, 2013

A:

Hello Jan, the reference to needing 2 Groupon vouchers is for two people traveling together, and staying in the same room. That way you get the double occupancy price of $1,776 per person, plus tax. Each of you can purchase your own Groupon Voucher by selecting (1) when placing your order. Then when you make your reservation with Epitourean, you provide both Groupon Redemption Codes located on the vouchers. You will receive one room for two people, and you won’t have to pay any single supplement. If you have further questions or requests, please contact us at 800-390-3292.

Q:

what is the typical airfare from Chicago? What is the closest airport? What time of the year is considered low season?

thomas a.  asked on  May 16, 2013

A:

Hello Thomas, it really does depend upon what time of year you are traveling. If you go during the high season (most summer months) the airfare from Chicago (ORD) to Rome (FCO) is likely to be around $1,500. However, if you travel in the fall, airfares drop considerably. I am actually going at the end of June, but I’m flying out of Toronto…and my airfare is $1,082.00. So again, it depends upon when you go, and what city you decide to fly from. I hope you can join us…this is a fabulous culinary vacation!

Q:

There are 4 of us that would love to do this vacation but we would not be able to travel until October 2014. Could we still get this terrific deal for then through Groupon travel?

Sue R.  asked on  May 14, 2013

A:

Hello Sue, we would love to have you all travel with us in October 2014, but the Groupon Voucher being offered has a travel period restriction of May 12, 2013 to May 25, 2014. If you wish to take advantage of the special offer, you would need to request floating dates when making your reservation. Please contact one of our culinary travel specialists at 800-390-3292 if you would like additional information.

Q:

I see this is a small hilltop town. Aside from the planned activities, how can we enjoy more of Umbria during the week?

Jerome S.  asked on  May 13, 2013

A:

Hello Jerome, we have designed free time into this tour so that you can enjoy the other activities offered by the resort, as well as some independent activities that you may wish to reserve on your own. There are additional tours and excursions that can be arranged according to your interests, and the costs vary depending upon the activity. These can either be booked in advance, or upon arrival at the hotel. So I would recommend you contact us at 800-390-3292 to inquire further.

Q:

If we purchase two groupons, for my husband and me, staying in 1 room, are we able to use both Groupons for the same stay? It says limit 1. We will be in Tuscany in July 2013. Also, are there options for staying 4 nights rather than 6. And finally, are there transfers available from Siena, and to Florence at the end of the stay? Thank you very much

Christine F.  asked on  May 11, 2013

A:

Hello Christine, the fine print that states "limit 1 Groupon per visit" refers to one person using one Groupon. Naturally if you are traveling with another person (such as your husband), you can each use one Groupon Voucher during your visit. I apologize that this is confusing...it is a question we get a lot. But you and your husband can each purchase a Groupon Voucher for your trip...or one person can purchase both vouchers in one transaction. Regarding transfers, you would need to contact us directly at 800-390-3292 or customerservice@epitourean.com to request a different return other than Rome. We can always accommodate our guests, but there are times when special transportation arrangements come at an additional cost.

Q:

It states all meals included. Am I to assume this means breakfast , lunch and dinner everyday? Also, what is the 10% tax for, and who does that go to. Will it be included in the purchase?

Johnny L.  asked on  May 10, 2013

A:

Hello Johnny, the package does include all meals, and yes...that is breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day during your tour. When we run a promotion like this, we do not include the tax portion in the overall discount since we cannot pay fees on taxes. For that reason, you would pay your tax at the time you make your official reservation through Epitourean. The tax on this package, after the significant discount, would be $177.60.

Q:

This is right up my alley. Do you have specific weeks, or are they completely at one's discretion?

Nardo P.  asked on  May 10, 2013

A:

Hello Nardo, most weeks are available throughout the year. The best thing to do is contact our culinary travel specialists at 800-390-3292 or customerservice@epitourean.com and let us know your travel preferences. Our tour runs from Sunday to Saturday most weeks. We can hold a room for you up to 24 hours while you purchase your Groupon voucher if you like.
