Tour Itinerary at a Glance
This 7-day tour of Italy emphasizes two of the most popular aspects of traveling: sightseeing and eating. In between multicourse meals and hands-on cooking classes on Italian cuisine, you’ll travel to mainland Europe’s only active volcano and explore the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. If adventure is what you crave, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel around the caves and grottos of Faraglioni and explore the island of Capri.
- Day 1: After arriving in Italy, enjoy a four-course seafood dinner with wine at the hotel restaurant, La Terrazza, overlooking the Gulf of Naples.
- Day 2: Learn how to make Neapolitan pastries in a cooking class and have a three-course lunch with wine before embarking on a walking tour of Herculaneum.
- Day 3: Take an optional cruise to Sorrento on the scenic Amalfi Coast before exploring the island of Capri on your own. Then, go on a boat trip to the caves and grottoes of Faraglioni to swim and snorkel.
- Day 4: Visit Mount Vesuvius and return to the hotel for a pasta and seafood cooking class followed by a three-course lunch with wine.
- Day 5: Go on a walking tour of Naples, where you’ll visit the Naples Historic Center. Then, dine on Neapolitan pizza for lunch and further explore the city before returning to the hotel for dinner.
- Day 6: Learn how to make fresh pasta during a cooking class, then eat a four-course lunch with wine. Afterward, tour Pompeii.
