Tour Highlights

This trip will introduce you to some of Oregon and Northern California’s most iconic natural sights. From the Columbia River Gorge’s cascading waterfalls to Smith Rock State Park’s desert-like landscape, you’ll learn about Oregon’s vibrant ecosystems. You’ll also stay in comfortable resorts along the way, including a lodge along the Deschutes River, a golf retreat in Bandon, and a casino run by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians.

  • Mount Hood: In addition to being Oregon’s tallest mountain, Mount Hood is renowned for its 12 named glaciers and surrounding old-growth forest. Your visit includes a stay at the Timberline Lodge, a historic lodging built by the WPA.
  • Crater Lake National Park: Crater Lake isn’t just the country’s deepest lake—its depth of 1,943 feet also makes it the world’s ninth-deepest lake. Formed by an ancient volcanic eruption, the lake is now known for its sapphire-blue waters.
  • Rogue River: Extending from Crater Lake all the way to the Pacific Ocean, the Rogue River flows through some of the state’s most rugged (and scenic) terrain. It’s also home to world-class whitewater rapids, as well as a healthy population of salmon, sculpin, and bass.
  • Redwood National Park: Some of the sequoias in Redwood National and State Parks are more than 2,000 years old, which helped this pristine coastal forest earn status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
