The hotel’s adventure focus exposes curious visitors to a mélange of thrilling sports, waking dormant adrenal glands with the beginners’ sessions at the Kaiceitos Circus School, where for two hours twice a day, guests transform into budding acrobats, mastering the airborne basics while flipping, flinging, and swinging to safety on the fully netted equipment.

To bolster their rebellion against gravity, guests can also attend aerial arts classes or explore a belowground skate ramp made from a 40-foot-wide half circle of smooth riding surface, giving skateboarders an ideal place to test Newton’s first law. The skyward antics continue at The Kite Lounge, eXtreme Hotel's own kiteboarding center, where certified instructors lead lessons in which, with the help of wind-harnessing kites, surfers can soar above the waves to the astonishment of the water-bound fauna, including sea turtles, manatees, and migratory humpback whales.

After a day of sun and sweat, newly minted extreme athletes can nosh on organic, locally grown produce at the Kite Lounge Restaurant and recharge in their Standard room’s one double bed or two twin-size beds. Tiled floors lead to a private balcony, where views of the verdant tropical surroundings feed eyes and relaxation glands. Environmentally friendly cooling vents, part of eXtreme Hotel’s eco-conscious business practices, are strategically placed throughout the room to maintain a comfortable climate without wasting natural resources.

Cabarete: Seaside Recreation and Nightlife

Cabarete’s naturally windy conditions combine with its oceanside locale to create an ideal arena for numerous water sports. Abundant breezes allow adrenaline chasers to indulge in continuous windsurfing atop clear waters, and a scuba dive reveals vibrant coral reefs, home to a living rainbow of tropical fish. Back on solid ground, El Choco National Park's intricate web of caves and lagoons allows the sea leg-less to spelunk, swim, and hike just minutes away from eXtreme Hotel.

In town, moto choncos—small motor bikes—shuttle visitors to Cabarete's various shops and eateries, many boasting internationally influenced fare. Come sundown, the town morphs into a bustling center of nightlife, and myriad discos and bars pump dance music until the wee hours. Locals refuel from a night of dancing with a cuba libre or a mama juana, an allegedly healing mixture of rum, wine, honey, bark, and leaves.
