A late return from Bangkok is possible. When you call in to make your reservation you will want to let the reservation agent know that date you want to return. Our air department will then be able to check the availability and let you know what the additional cost will be.

Are air and hotel room upgrades available?

Dave S.  asked on  Feb 26, 2013

A:

We do not offer optional hotels for our tours. We do use very upscale hotels for this tour, The Fairmount in Dubai and the Dusit Thani in Bangkok. When you are on the Booking & Travel FAQs tab for the tour, you will see that each hotel is listed as a blue hyper link, when you click on the name of the hotel you will be able to see full details for the hotel, a list of amenities and photos.

Q:

Not every single traveler wants to do a tour like contiki tours unfortuneatly most groupon tours are two people and is unavailable to me , ever thought to offer tours to solo travelers who want to experiance trips to exotic places they have never been too and not have to find a traveling companion or pay single suplement on top. Im sure there are other groupon users who like me would go on tours like this

dana g.  asked on  Mar 9, 2013

A:

When you make a reservation with Friendly Planet as a single traveler you do have the option to let the reservation agent know that you are interested in finding a roommate. You will then be signed up for our roommate finder. If someone else booking as a single is interested in finding a roommate you will each get the other's information so that you can correspond and determine if you are a good match. If you do not find a roommate the single supplement will remain as part of your reservation, if you find a roommate the single supplement would be removed and you would each pay the double occupancy rate. We have many passengers who prefer to travel as a single having their own room and of course we have travelers such as yourself who would like to have a roommate so we try to offer options that are attractive to all travelers.

Q:

I read that the Solo Traveler fee can be waived if I am willing to share a room with another passenger? How do I go about seeing if there is another female I can share the room with? (I am interested in the August 28th departure).

Mona S.  asked on  Mar 1, 2013

A:

We do not arrange for room sharing, however, we do offer a Roommate Finder feature that you can sign up for when you book. If another solo traveler has signed up for the Finder, you will receive an email with their contact information. In the event that you do find a roommate, we would refund you the solo traveler fee. Please keep in mind, though, that we cannot guarantee that you will find a roommate and may need to continue with the solo fee.

Q:

Hello, my girlfriend and I want to buy these tickets for the last date in November. We want to make sure that we sit with one another on the plane and are in the same room, etc. at all hotels. But, we need to pay with seperate credit cards. Is this possible? We were also thinking of trying to extend our trip in Thailand a couple of days and going to the beach, from the thread above, it looks like that is possible for an extra fee if required? Thank you!

Alicia L.  asked on  Feb 28, 2013

A:

You can absolutely still travel together even if you've purchased your Groupons on separate credit cards. When you call us to redeem your Groupon, we'll ask you who you are rooming with and we'll make sure you're together on the plane as well. We are offering a Phuket Island extension, which adds 3 days to the end of the tour, for $599 per person.
