Days 1–5: Flight and Cape Town

After an overnight flight, you’ll arrive in South Africa’s legislative capital, Cape Town, on day 2. The scenic metropolis is known for its fine dining, natural beauty, and creative spirit, all of which helped secure its place at the top of the New York Times’ list of 52 Places to Go in 2014.

  • Cape Peninsula tour: See baboons in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and penguins at Boulders Beach during a scenic full-day drive along the coast on day 3.

Days 6 and 7: Saint Lucia Estuary and Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Game Reserve

Your final stop is Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa. Established during a 19th-century gold rush, Johannesburg is now a financial center that attracts visitors with its shopping and dining venues. You’ll fly home after breakfast on day 12.

  • Panorama Route: During the drive to Johannesburg on day 10, take in the sights of the God’s Window overlook in Blyde River Canyon and the rock formations and waterfalls of Bourke’s Luck Potholes.

The departure airport (JFK, EWR or LGA) will be advised at the time of booked based on availability. 3. How do I find out if the dates I want to travel are available? The dates available are listed on each option.

4. What happens if I buy the Groupon and my travel dates are not available? You can either choose another date or be refunded by Groupon. We suggest calling Gate 1 Travel to redeem your vouchers as soon as possible so that you do not run into this problem.

5. Does my child need a Groupon, and can they stay in my room? All travelers, including children, need to purchase a voucher in order to travel. Different occupancy arrangements may be requested with Gate 1 Travel at the time of reservation.
