7-Day Vacation in Berlin, Prague, and Vienna

Berlin, Prague, and Vienna: three capital cities, hundreds of historical palaces and churches, and endless sources of inspiration for Romanic-era composers, Old Masters painters, and writers. You can explore the rich culture of these cities by spending a couple nights in each on this seven-day European vacation. This vacation includes:

  • Round-trip airfare
  • 2-night stay of standard accommodations in Berlin at Hotel LebensQuelle or similar
  • Flight from Berlin to Prague
  • 2-night stay of standard accommodations in Prague at Hotel Élite or similar
  • Second-class rail from Prague to Vienna
  • 2-night stay of standard accommodations in Vienna at Courtyard by Marriott Wien Schoenbrunn or similar
  • Daily breakfast
  • All taxes

Berlin

The vacation begins in Germany’s capital city, Berlin. No trip to Berlin is complete without a visit to the Brandenburg Gate, where more than 100,000 people came out to celebrate the demise of the Berlin Wall in 1989. This momentous occasion reunited East and West Germany and marked a turning point in the city’s development. Modern-day Berlin has shaken off its divided past in favor of high-end shopping, world-famous cultural attractions, and thumping discothèques.

  • Gemäldegalerie houses the biggest assortment of Rembrandt paintings on the planet, with more than a dozen in the collection. Admire works by Titian, Botticelli, Rubens, and other Old Masters.
  • Mummies, skulls, and sarcophagi add an eerie vibe to the Neues Museum. You can also see a bust of Nefertiti and relics from the Trojan War. We recommend buy your tickets online ahead of time to avoid long lines.

Prague

You’ll spend this leg of the trip checking out the riverside palaces and sky-high spires that top hundreds of churches in the capital of the Czech Republic. Stroll down the 14th-century Charles Bridge to snap pics of the scenic Vltava River, or snap a selfie in front of a statue of a saint—there are over two dozen adorning the balustrade.

  • Astronomical Clock: Mounted on the Old Town City Hall, this medieval timepiece features an hourly show starring figures of Jesus and the Apostles.
  • The Municipal House typifies art-nouveau elegance with its marble staircase and gold-trimmed concert hall topped with stained glass windows.

Vienna

Vienna sits on the storied banks of the Danube River, immortalized by Johann Strauss’s “Blue Danube Waltz.” Austria’s capital is often called the City of Music, thanks to the extraordinary musical talents—Mozart and Beethoven first among them—who have lived and worked here.

  • 1441 rooms are in the Schoenbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the summer hideaway for the Hapsburg imperial family. You can only tour a couple dozen or so of the decadent chambers, but you can spend the balance of your time roaming the outdoor labyrinth and gardens or observing animals in the Tiergarten zoo.
  • Vienna State Opera: Mozart’s Don Giovanni heralded the opening of this massive opera house, one of the world’s most famous. Marble staircases and crystal chandeliers decorate the opulent interior, where you can see a Rodin-made bust of Austrian-born composer Gustav Mahler.

You can't beat these deals. GO TODAY has the same a trip on their site for way more. I have traveled with GO TODAY bf, purchased on their site. The trip package and experience is exactly the same. The hotel is nice with transportation right outside and the bus ride to the city center is really short. Can't wait to see what other trips I can book with GO TODAY and GROUPON.
