Dublin

A visit to Ireland is all it takes to see why green is the obligatory color of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations the world over. The country—about the size of Indiana—takes the notions of “lush” and “green” to a whole new level. In fact, it was these landscapes that inspired Johnny Cash to pen the song “Forty Shades of Green” during a visit to Ireland in the 1950s. The capital, Dublin, serves up a vibrant mix of green pastures and a city center full of the arts, culture, and nightlife spots you’d expect from a European capital.

  • Chester Beatty Library: Located on the grounds of Dublin Castle, this library houses many priceless artifacts, including the first illustrated Life of the Prophet—a 16th-century Turkish epic about the life of Muhammad.
  • Guinness Storehouse: Learn all about the 250-year-old brewery, from its history to its methods, on a tour that ends with a pint of the good stuff.
  • Kilmainham Gaol: Tour the 19th-century prison, which has hosted numerous Irish revolutionaries within its cells, including the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising.

London

England’s 2,000-year-old capital city brims with famous landmarks: Westminster Abbey, the site of royal weddings since 1100 AD; the crosswalk where the Beatles traversed Abbey Road; and Kensington Palace, where Prince William, Kate Middleton, and little George and Charlotte reside. After a day of sightseeing, check out the theaters of the West End and the dazzling billboards in Piccadilly Circus.

  • Tate Modern: Housed inside a former power station, this museum holds stunning modern and contemporary works by the likes of Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko.
  • Saint Paul’s Cathedral: The second largest cathedral in the UK, this huge domed church—built in the English Baroque style—houses the burial sites of Lord Nelson, John Donne, and William Carnegie.
  • Take in the fresh air at St. James’s Park, where you’ll find a charming lake and enjoy views of the London Eye in the distance.

Paris

After all these years, the City of Lights still sets the pace when it comes to fashion, art, food, and romance. Some of the best-known attractions, including the Louvre and Notre-Dame Cathedral, line the Seine river, which cuts the city in half. Along the Left Bank, you can pop into cafes where Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald scribbled the initial ideas for some of their most famous works.

  • Enjoy the view from Sacré-Cœur, which sits at the highest point in the city in the heart of Montmarte.
  • Panthéon: Pay your respects to Voltaire, Victor Hugo, and Émile Zola, who are all interned here.
  • Louvre: Perhaps the city’s most famous attraction, the massive museum covers more than 600,000 square feet and is home to 35,000 artifacts, including the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.

Amsterdam

There’s a certain storybook quality to Amsterdam; you can walk along glistening canals, snap pics of century-old windmills, and visit a museum dedicated to the country’s national flower, the tulip. At Bloemenmarkt, a year-round market, you can buy tulips and other colorful blooms from floating barges. We’ve listed some of our favorite stops below.

  • Anne Frank House: The home where Anne Frank and her family once hid from the Nazis is now a museum that features rotating exhibits exploring her life and the history of WWII.
  • Van Gogh Museum houses the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings and drawings, as well as more than 700 letters from the artist himself.
  • Explore scenic canals and stop by art galleries and shops in the Jordaan neighborhood, a chic shopping and dining location.

You can't beat these deals. GO TODAY has the same a trip on their site for way more. I have traveled with GO TODAY bf, purchased on their site. The trip package and experience is exactly the same. The hotel is nice with transportation right outside and the bus ride to the city center is really short. Can't wait to see what other trips I can book with GO TODAY and GROUPON.
