Pure Luxury. Pure Bliss. Pure Perfection. Our first trip to Puerto Vallarta and WOW did we pick the right place to stay. The Grand Miramar is situated on the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains, just a few miles outside of the historic city center. Staying here made for a glorious, stress-free, zen-like experience. From the moment we walked into the lobby, we were struck with the beauty of the views of Banderas Bay. The beauty we saw outside was reflected inside as well - the hotel is modern, chic and immaculate. In fact the hotel is surrounded by beauty, with the lush rainforest behind you and the bay in front of you; everywhere you looked was gorgeous. Upon arrival, we were ushered to couches to rest, given water, and staff took care of us. Check-in was not at a desk; it was a simple process and practically did everything from the couch. Once all the paperwork was taken care of, we shown our room... or should I say suite! The room was huge and opened up to views of the bay. Again the decor was modern and updated. Plenty of sockets to charge cameras, phones, ipads and anything else we brought. There was a stand-up shower and a soaking tub for achy bodies tired from all that touring. The king bed had a fan above it for air circulation. And the hotel supplied bottled water each day. What else could you want? Well, how about pools (yes, multiple) with views, a rooftop bar to watch the insane sunsets, a beautiful breakfast suite overlooking colorful flowers and pools, a jacuzzi big enough that you don't have to get too close to anyone, AND food, glorious food. Wow, we have nothing but compliments for the chef at the Grand Miramar... the molcajutes were incredible. What really makes this place top-tier was the staff... we felt like we made friends in a few days. They truly cared about you and your experience. And they cared about you and your safety. Every day, when we left, they logged our travels and when we returned they checked us off their sheets. They remembered what we were doing and always asked about our experiences. Their investment in our whereabouts made us feel safe. And whenever we had an issue, someone was there to assist. For example, I lost our voucher for our return trip to the airport - the front desk staff called the company and relied all of our information to ensure that they still picked us up. For anyone concerned that they are too far from the "fun", let me assure you that you are a short cab ride away from downtown. It was roughly 90-150 pesos to get to the heart of downtown or the marina (for any cruises you might do). And the hotel staff is able to call a cab at moment's notice! Easy, convenient and super safe. When we return to Puerto Vallarta, we will choose to stay here again. It was luxurious, relaxing and simply fantastic... we wished we could stay longer! Thank you everyone for an incredible visit.

Four-Star Hilltop Hotel with Views of Banderas Bay

Grand Miramar Puerto Vallarta is perched on the hills of Conchas Chinas, an exclusive residential neighborhood with cobblestone streets. The area is known for its spectacular views of Banderas Bay, and the four-star Grand Miramar has some of the best. The guest rooms, restaurants, swimming pools, and spa all look out on the sparkling ocean. From certain points, you can also see the city skyline and the Sierra Madre mountain range.

Junior and grand junior suites feature terraces overlooking the bay or Puerto Vallarta. Inside, you’ll find flat-screen televisions and kitchens outfitted with refrigerators and microwaves. The resort’s onsite restaurants serve a complimentary breakfast buffet as well as Mexican, Mediterranean, and lighter fare later in the day. This Groupon includes a $100 dining credit as well as a bottle of wine.

The hotel’s minimalist architecture reflects its natural surroundings—the design uses balconies to give the building an undulating appearance, an homage to the nearby ocean waves. Sink into a lounge chair near an outdoor pool or grab an ocean-facing spot on the midlevel deck. Minutes away, you’ll find Playa de los Muertos, one of the area’s most popular public beaches. Back at the hotel, you can snuggle up with a book from Grand Miramar’s library or indulge in a massage at the rainforest-inspired spa.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico: Tropical Paradise with Cosmopolitan Flair

Puerto Vallarta is perhaps Mexico’s most sophisticated vacation destination, with expansive beaches, trendy restaurants, and cobblestone streets leading to beautifully preserved 19th-century churches. A 16-block boardwalk known as the malecón offers unobstructed ocean views as it extends from the city center, past fountains and a famous 9-foot-high statue of a boy riding a seahorse.

Called “the most gay-friendly city in Mexico” by Frommer’s, Vallarta draws a diverse crowd of vacationers intent on relaxing during the day and living it up at night, bouncing between the city’s numerous dance clubs and bouncy castles. For a glimpse of the city’s history, head to Viejo Vallarta, also known as Old Town, where artists peddle shawls and piñatas and mariachi bands serenade couples dancing on Plaza Principal.

Wonderful experience! Everything posted in the Groupon was what it seemed, and the hotel staff went above and beyond! I loved it! Icing on the cake, one of the waiters remembered which day I said my birthday was and the staff surprised me with cake and a birthday song at breakfast. So nice! And pun intended. :) Would recommend this hotel, and would love to return!

The room was spacious and beautiful. At check in, they asked if we wanted to upgrade for a fee. It was the same room but on a higher floor, originally 3rd moved to 7th. The view was well worth it. You looked out over the bay. It was at a distance because you are indeed up a mountain. There was lush foliage outside the corridor windows. Food was amazing. Hospitality was perfect. We'll be back!
