All-Inclusive Resort on Samaná Peninsula in Dominican Republic
The first thing you notice about Grand Paradise Samana is the sprawling grove of palm trees surrounding it. The grove stretches all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, making the resort feel like a remote, exotic hideaway. Though it evokes a far-off desert isle, there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied—there are jet skis, kayaks, two swimming pools, and several restaurants on site, and downtown Samaná is only about 30 minutes away.
The ocean is steps from the hotel, and you can take advantage of complimentary snorkeling-gear, windsurfing, and catamaran rentals. On land, play horseshoes, practice archery, or go horseback riding (extra fee). The resort even offers free scuba-diving lessons at the pool and aerobics classes right on the beach. On the Dominican Republic's mainland, Los Haitises National Park is home to mangrove forests and limestone crags that peek out of the water.
