Days 1 and 2: Vienna, Austria
After an Austrian-themed dinner aboard the ship on day 1, your journey begins with a three-hour tour of Vienna on day 2. The route takes you along the Ringstrasse, a circular 19th-century boulevard that’s lined with some of Vienna’s most famous architectural works. Highlights along the route include the Vienna State Opera and the massive Hofburg Palace. You’ll set sail for Budapest in the afternoon.
Day 3: Budapest, Hungary
Today’s tour lets you explore both sides of Budapest: Buda on the west bank of the Danube and Pest on the east bank. Gaze out at Buda’s hills and the riverfront from the Castle Quarter and continue on to see Fisherman’s Bastion and the 13th-century Matthias Church. Highlights in Pest include Heroes’ Square and the mineral-rich Széchenyi thermal baths. After the tour, you can spend the afternoon on the ship or go sightseeing in Budapest on your own. The ship departs for Bratislava in the evening.
Day 4: Bratislava, Slovakia
Once you arrive in the afternoon, the tour begins with a visit to Bratislava Castle, a hilltop behemoth that cuts an imposing figure in the city’s skyline. Then it’s on to the charming squares and historical buildings in Old Town. Keep an eye out for quirky statues like the man crawling out from under a manhole cover. Use your free time after the tour to see more of Bratislava on your own, or return to the ship to have a drink in the lounge.
Days 5 and 6: Departure
The ship returns to Vienna on the morning of day 5. After breakfast, you’ll disembark and head home.
