Modern Lodge and Cabins Embedded in Ancient Forest
In 2003, a logging company threatened to cut down 145 acres of old-growth Oregonian forest. The plot of land was located adjacent to the Green Springs Inn; the owners of the inn, the McGuire and Marsh families, responded to the threat by buying the acreage and using some of the wood to build solar-powered cabins to pay off their loan. These dwellings are now part of the Green Springs Inn, and the owners go great lengths to operate the property with sustainable practices.
There's a sense of peaceful seclusion to the inn's five cabins, which are walled off from the outside world by the forest. Each of the dwellings features a deep-jetted soaking tub, a large deck with furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, and a wood-burning stove. Located in the main lodge are the jacuzzi king rooms. Two rooms have wooden outside decks furnished with jetted tubs shaded from the prying eyes of woodland creatures thanks to screens made of bamboo, while the other two boast indoor jacuzzi spaces.
Chefs build the famous Green Springs deluxe burgers and pour microbrews in the inn’s restaurant.
Ashland, Oregon: Shakespeare Performances in the Forest
Ashland, Oregon is somewhat remote, tucked away in the state’s densely forested southwestern corridor. But every year, thousands of visitors every year flock here to watch the timeless works of William Shakespeare at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The company puts on 11 shows from February through October. When not taking in a show, you can hike or mountain bike the Pacific Crest Trail, which skirts the ridges of the lush Siskiyou Mountains.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Green Springs Inn & Cabins. Your staff was friendly and helpful; cabins beautifully built and appointed. Quiet and peaceful mountain setting. Restaurant served marvelous meals in relaxed atmosphere. Outside deck for delicious outdoor dining. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will definitely return!
