Q:

There are 3 guys that want to go, can we all fit in 1 canoe, or would it be a max of 2 with gear and food?

Mary C.  asked on  Apr 2, 2013

Q:

I do see that this groupon is not eligible for a VIP refund. What happens if the week we are able to go is filled up? We are looking at Sat or Sun 8/3 or 8/4 through that week. Either the 4 or 6 day package.

Sharon M.  asked on  Mar 24, 2013

A:

The first week of August is one of the busiest times in the Boundary Waters. If you do buy your groupon coupons and call us right away with in this week to sign up for that week. I can get you a Boundary Waters permit and set you up with a reservation. Just a reminder it is the busiest time and campsites in the Boundary Waters are on a first come first serve basis. If there is another time that you can come than I would say maybe try a different date. If you call right away and set up this date I can get you a Boundary Waters permit.

Q:

My family is interested in the 4 night package, however, some of us would also like to try the zipline. I understand, it's only included with the 6 night package. How much is the zipline tour for one and can it be added or purchased seperatly at the lodge?

Sharon M.  asked on  Mar 24, 2013

A:

The zipline is $79/person. Anyone can go as long as they are over the age of 10 years old, must weigh more than 75 pounds and under 240 pounds. Yes you can purchase it individually.

Q:

Can we select a trip that doesn't involve any portaging? I went on a canoe / camping trip in Canada many years ago and there were lots of mosquitos. Should I assume the same for this location? Can I bring my own sleeping bag and / or tent if I prefer? Water - would I be filtering water or carrying it?

Ashley T.  asked on  Mar 24, 2013

A:

You can do a trip without doing any portaging. You would then be on some of the larger lakes up here on the Gunflint Trail. If you come later in the summer than you don't have to worry that much about bugs. Yes you can bring your own sleeping bag and tent if you would like. For your water you could boil your water or filter it. If you would not be doing any portaging then yes you could carry your own water in.

Q:

Would it be possible to use a kayak instead of a canoe?

Jessica T.  asked on  Mar 22, 2013

A:

You could use a kayak, if you have your own. We do not have kayaks in our fleet to rent out on canoe trips.
