Convenient Condos near Skiing in the Laurentian Mountains

Quebec’s Laurentian Mountain range has peaks that reach about 2,500 feet (762 m). That’s well below those of the Appalachians or Rocky Mountains, but it also makes the range somewhat of a hidden gem for skiing. Cap Tremblant mountain resort is situated within five minutes of Mont Tremblant, one of the most popular skiing destinations in the eastern part of North America. Cap Tremblant is also situated amid the scenic waters of Lac Mercier and 200 acres of undulating evergreens.

Cap Tremblant has a huge main lodge with crackling fireplaces, as well as a collection of condo buildings with great views. Each one-bedroom condo includes spacious sleeping quarters, a living room with a sofa bed, and a fully equipped kitchen. Rustic textures and hardwood furniture create a mountain-cabin feel. During the summer, you can unwind on the condo's private balcony or terrace.

Il Pinnacolo, the hotel's gourmet Italian restaurant, is enclosed in glass and offers some spectacular mountain views. It’s a romantic spot where you can share veal marsala, steak tartare, or homemade pizza.

The property also features three pool areas and two year-round spa jacuzzis. Head to the Ocean Pavilion complex and barrel down a 60-foot (18 m) water slide, or get a workout in at the Lake Pavilion's three-lane lap pool. There are also onsite full-swing golf simulators.

Mont-Tremblant, Quebec: Skiing and European-Inspired Villages

The town of Mont-Tremblant is situated in southern Quebec’s Laurentian Mountain range, about two hours northwest of Montreal. The town is best known for skiing at Mont Tremblant, which has 95 trails spread out over more than 650 acres. Just north of town, Mont-Tremblant National Park encompasses six rivers and 400 lakes, as well as a number of cross-country ski trails (ski season ends in early April).

The Mont-Tremblant area comprises three distinct village settings: the downtown area of Saint-Jovite, Mont-Tremblant's old village, and the Tremblant pedestrian village. Located downhill from the resort on the banks of Lac Mercier, the old village offers quaint shops and an international variety of fine- and casual-dining options. The bustling pedestrian village—or "the resort," as locals call it—is a candy-colored playground located at the foot of the mountain.
