New York’s Finger Lakes: Rolling Vineyards, Deep Gorges, and More than 1,000 Waterfalls

The Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York gets its name from 11 long, thin lakes that were forged by glaciers thousands of years ago. The upheaval created breathtaking geography—more than 1,000 waterfalls spill down the sides of the area’s famous rocky gorges. Fishing, boating, and hiking are its biggest draws—head to Watkins Glen State Park to follow a 2-mile trail past 19 waterfalls—along with more than 100 wineries.

Ithaca, which borders Cayuga Lake, is the region’s largest town. Come for the postcard-worthy views of Ithaca Falls, and stay for the small-town charm. Downtown Ithaca’s historical buildings house bistros, boutiques, and taverns that serve local wine from the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. This is also where you’ll find Cornell University, one of New York’s two Ivy League schools.

The facility implemented additional measures to keep all of its hotel guests and employees safe during Covid-19. They are continuing to closely monitor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and The World Health Organization’s statements regarding the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). The room is spacious and really can accommodate 6 people. I loved having the working fireplace. Though due to covid19 some of the activities were not open & we had to reserve time for use of the amenities we the kids enjoyed the waterpark. We do expect to visit again with other family members

Rooms and resort were great. Accommodations were severely limited due to covid restrictions which was expected. Staff seemed very new, young and poorly trained or motivated

Loved our room and all the amenities! The mountain coaster and outdoor heated pool were the highlight of our trip. Super convenient having a Starbucks in the resort and the gift shop had a beautiful selection. I recommend taking the shuttle to track for dinner on wing night. Overall extremely pleasant experience!

First of all I want to say the hotel was amazing I have not one complaint about my stay or the the place really it was beautiful and I will be back. But I do have a serious issue with Groupon. So this was advertised through Groupon as an indoor water park so I figured this would be the perfect solution to my sons upcoming 5th birthday. So I booked it. Groupon failed to mention that the actual waterpark was closed due to covid, needless to say we were all pretty disappointed.
