Geneva-on-the-Lake thrived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a summer getaway. Wealthy families from nearby cities flocked to the village to “rough it” in cottages alongside Lake Erie, spending their days fishing, playing tennis, and letting their hair down at beach parties.
