Days 1-3: Arrival

An overnight flight takes you across the International Date Line to Denpasar, Bali, with a connecting flight in Singapore. Enjoy in-flight meals and services. You will lose 1 day, which is regained on the return journey. Once you land on day 3, you will be met and transferred to your resort in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Day 4: Ubud

Take a full-day tour of Ubud, which will give you a feel for Bali’s culture. You’ll stop at a handful of smaller villages along the way.

• Batubulan village: Watch artisans at work dyeing intricate designs onto fabric known as batik. The vibrantly hued patterns adorn dresses and skirts traditionally worn by the locals. You can buy your own garment at one of the open-air markets.
• Explore Ubud: Its terrace-style rice fields look like green carpeted steps set on the city’s hilly terrain. As you tour Ubud, you can take in this scenery or stop by a local warung (eatery) to sample babi guling, roasted suckling pig served atop a bed of rice.

Day 5: Uluwatu

In the afternoon, the group heads south to Uluwatu, stopping off en route to admire the distinctive landscape of Bukit. The dry, rugged cliffs here present a stark contrast to Ubud’s lush hills, but it’s equally as beautiful set against the bright-blue Bali Sea.

• Uluwatu Temple is held sacred as one of the island’s spiritual pillars. It’s also known as one of the best spots to watch the sunset as it casts gold and orange hues on the sea below.
• Traditional Kecak dance: Close out the evening by watching Balinese dancers clad in colorful headdresses and costumes perform a fire dance that tells the epic tale of the Ramayana.

Days 6–9: Northern Bali and Nusa Dua

Take in the exotic wildlife and tropical wilderness of northern Bali on day 6. This part of the trek takes you past cacao fields and fruit orchards that stretch across the coastline’s mountainous topography. After some sightseeing, you can shop for rare flowers and try poky durian at the market before returning to the hotel to spend the remainder of your time in Bali at leisure.

• Lovina Beach: Dig your toes into the warm black sand of this 7-mile-long beach that was formed by volcanic sediments.
• Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is a temple complex honoring the Balinese water goddess Dewi Danu. It’s set amid the many waterfalls and gardens of the Bedugul Valley.

Days 10–13: Singapore and Departure

Board a plane to Singapore on day 10. Day 11 takes you on a tour that stops at some of the area’s most beloved landmarks, including the National Orchid Gardens. You’ll have day 12 to explore the city on your own, then fly back to the United States on day 13.

• Merlion: The legendary 6-foot fountain bears the body of a scaled fish and the head of a lion that spouts streams of water; it’s popular for tourist photos.
• Gardens by the Bay: Climb inside an indoor waterfall that pours over tropical foliage and wander through a flower dome filled with rare orchids and colorful blooms. Visit at night to see colored lights illuminating tree-like towers covered with plants and vines.
