Your next stop takes you to the tourist destination of Monteverde, which is nestled between two otherworldly cloud forests in central Costa Rica. • Carara National Park, an 11,600-acre nature reserve in Manuel Antonio, is home to crocodiles, two-toed sloths, and hundreds of scarlet macaws—a rare sight in most parts of the country.
