Guided Tour of Morocco and Turkey with Airfare

Though they’re separated by the entire width of the Mediterranean Sea, Morocco and Turkey both enchant travelers with their piquant cuisine, colorful bazaars, and breathtaking mosques. On this 12-day tour from Indus Travels, you’ll get to experience the major cities of Morocco—Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, and Marrakech—and enjoy a stint in Turkey’s Istanbul before returning to the United States. Each option includes:

Days 1–2: Flight and Arrival in Morocco

  • Flight: You’ll spend day 1 flying from New York to Casablanca. The flight takes approximately 8 hours.
  • Arrival: After landing, you’ll be transported to your hotel in Casablanca.
  • Included meals: in-flight meals and dinner on day 2

Day 3: Casablanca

  • Guided tour of major sights including the royal palace and Mohammed V Square
  • See one of the world’s largest mosques: Hassan II Mosque sits right on the coast. Entrance into the mosque is not included.
  • Drive to Rabat: Here, another guided tour will take you to the Mohammed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower—an unfinished red stone minaret from the 12th century.
  • Included meals: breakfast and dinner

Day 4–5: Fez

  • En route to Fez: Visit Meknes (the former capital of the Kingdom of Morocco) and Volubilis, a partially excavated Roman city.
  • Old Fez: This maze of bazaars and food stands is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a circus for the senses.
  • Shop for leather: Fez is a world leader in leather production; its Chouara tannery is almost 1,000 years old. You can find leather bags, shoes, coats, belts, and more in the bazaars here.
  • Included meals: two breakfasts and two dinners

Days 6–8: Marrakech and Casablanca

  • Set off for Marrakech on the morning of day 6. Along the way, you’ll pass a Berber village and the city of Beni-Mellal.
  • Sightseeing in Marrakech: You’ll visit the Menara gardens, the Saadian tombs, and the Bahia Palace.
  • Djemaa el Fna: See snake charmers, henna tattoo artists, and other street performers in the city’s main square.
  • Optional outing: Join other travelers for a traditional Moroccan meal and belly-dancing show on the evening of day 7 ($50/person).

  • Evening in Istanbul: Explore on your own or take an Istanbul by Night tour ($95/person), which will lead you to a nightclub where you’ll enjoy a Turkish feast and belly-dancing show.
  • Visit the Hippodrome on day 10. This public square was once a principal social venue, hosting political activities, rebellions, and chariot races.

  • Optional tours: Visit the Spice Bazaar and take a cruise down the Bosphorus, the strait separating Europe from Asia ($50/person); or tour Hagia Sophia, a former basilica and mosque that’s one of the world’s most sacred sites ($65/person).
