Q:

Is a Texas Fishing License required for on site fishing? Are there any additional fees?

Monica S.  asked on  Dec 5, 2013

A:

Hi Monica! Thank you for your interest! You do not need a license to fish on the Ranch and there are no additional fees. You will need to bring your own bait but we provide the poles. The fish are small but the fun is big!

Q:

Do you have or allow 4-wheelers on the property?

Savannah S.  asked on  Nov 27, 2013

A:

• Hi Savannah! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Thanks so much for your question about the 4 wheelers. Unfortunately we do not allow guests to ride 4 wheelers on the property but if you are looking for something else physical to do, we have hiking trails, horseback and paintball that may be just right for your group. Thanks again!

Q:

Do you accept pets?

Michelle H.  asked on  Nov 27, 2013

A:

Thank you, Michelle, for showing a high level of respect by simply asking your question about pets. We do have a handful of pet friendly rooms on property. We ask that the pets always be kept on a leash and picked up after while walking the grounds. We also encourage kenneling animals inside of rooms and ask that they do not sleep on bedding or furniture. There is a $25 fee for pets, as we follow their stays with us with additional cleaning for future guests. Thanks again! - Brian (Lone Oak Ranch and Retreat)

Q:

I am curious what the "Campfire Package" entails. Is it one huge campfire for everyone who buys the "package?" Thanks

G. E.  asked on  Nov 26, 2013

A:

Great question! We have 3 large firepits on our 81 acres. Normally, we can get you setup at your own campfire area. To date, we have never had to share with a larger group. Honestly, our goal is to encourage and foster your relationships with your closest family and friends. We want to provide you as much privacy as possible to accomplish this goal. Hope that helps! - Brian (Lone Oak Ranch and Retreat)

Q:

The description says Gainesville is 7 miles from the Kansas border. That's a mistake, as Gainesville is 7 miles from the Oklahoma border. Thanks.

Paul B.  asked on  Nov 25, 2013

A:

Interesting...thank you for the help and awareness. Correct, Gainesville is 7 miles from the Oklahoma border...and only 8 miles from WinStar, one of the largest Casinos in the world. We will contact Groupon to make the change. Thanks again!

Q:

Are children allowed on trail ride? If so, are there any restrictions such as age, etc?

Corey G.  asked on  Nov 25, 2013

A:

Normally, 8 years old and above are considered safe, comfortable riders. On occasion, we have allowed 7 years olds with a higher confidence and comfort level on horses to ride, but these are exceptions. "Piggy-backing" with an adult is not consider safe, but we do allow the younger children to enjoy time in the arena being led if they so desire. Hope this answer is helpful and we get an opportunity to serve you in the future. - Lone Oak Ranch and Retreat
