Why is your hotel tax higher than prescribed by the government?

A:

Taxes on accommodation are different. Here is the breakdown: 10% Room Tax, 5% GST, 4% Facilities Fee (Resort fee), plus 0.4 as the Facilities Fee itself is subject to GST.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if blackout dates are 6/7-6/8, does that just refer to the Friday overnight to Saturday or also the Saturday overnight to Sunday? We were hoping to stay the night of 6/8-6/9. Thank you!

I can only stay on the nights of 6/30 and 7/1. How can I confirm availability (please provide email contact details if cant answer) before purchasing groupons because I do not want to purchase two groupons only to find that if these dates are no longer available, I will be without accommodation and will have paid money that has to be redeemed for something else and I will still not have accommodation on these 2 days? Furthermore, I really need this to be 3 consecutive nights, or would my wife need to be a groupon member to secure the third nite (though she has the same email address as me)? Thank you, Michael
