Arrive in Auckland. Beautiful beaches, volcanic hills, and harbors filled with brightly colored sailboats surround this bustling metropolis on the country’s North Island. You’ll pick up your rental car in Auckland and your schedule is open to explore the city at your own pace until you set out for the Bay of Islands.
