Sydney

Originally built as a British colony for exiled convicts, Sydney, Australia's most famous city and the capital of New South Wales, is now a hotbed of art, culture, and architectural wonders. You’ll travel like a local on the “harbor highway” aboard the hop on/hop off Captain Cook ferry.
  • Home to around 100 beaches: The city is full of "Sydneysiders"—flip-flop clad surfers—who are constantly in search of the best waves; the best spots may be Garie Beach or Shark Island.
  • Free admission to the Taronga Zoo: See Komodo dragons, platypuses, dingoes, and bilbies—small desert-dwelling marsupials—up close. You might even be able to pat a koala bear.
  • Go gallery hopping: The Museum of Contemporary Art has a new Modern Art wing, which currently features an interactive exhibit from Yoko Ono, and there's contemporary Chinese art at the White Rabbit gallery in the Chippendale neighborhood.
  • Accommodations: Travelodge Hotel Sydney

    Nadi, Fiji

You'll take a brief flight to Nadi, a village located on Fiji's largest island of Viti Levu, to spend the last two days of your trip lounging on scenic South Pacific beaches.

  • Popular attraction: Once the personal collection of Perry Mason actor Raymond Burr, The Garden of the Sleeping GIant now overflows with more than 2,000 rare orchids, including some that are exclusive to Fiji.
  • Nadi's town's Main Street is lined with farm stands stacked with kava root and coconut, as well as restaurants serving up Fijan specialties such as kokoda, a slow-cooked fish dish
  • A day-trip to the Mamanuca Islands is included in each deal, and includes a tropical lunch buffet along with beverages, Kava ceremony, glass-bottomed boat tours, music & entertainment, and other activities.
  • Accommodations: Novotel Nadi

    Melbourne

Melbourne, which sits along Port Phillip Bay on the southern tip of the continent, has recently emerged as the “it” destination Down Under thanks to its high-end shopping and burgeoning foodie scene. Choose the optional two-day extension on the trip and you’ll be able to explore the stylish city and its world-famous street art.

    • How to spend a sunny afternoon: Pick up local produce at the Prahan Market, and enjoy a picnic in the Royal Botanical Gardens.
    • National Gallery of Victoria is itself a piece of art thanks to an overhaul by Italian Architect Mario Bellini in 2003. Inside you’ll find a wonderful collection of Australian Aboriginal art and rotating exhibits.
    • Wet your whistle: The World’s 50 Best Bars list of 2013 featured two Melbourne watering holes: Black Pearl, a low-lit lounge in the bohemian Fitzroy suburb, and The Everleigh, where the cocktails are made with fresh fruit juices and custom ice cuts.

I haven't taken the trip yet, so I have no idea if it will be good or not. The cost seemed reasonable, but again I don't know until I actually do the trip. I fly Fiji Airlines and the carrier got terrible reviews via Yelp.

We were unable to make the reservations with the Pacific company that Groupon directed us to. So far we have tried to contact them to make the reservations, but they have not been back in touch with us. If they don't c ontact us soon, we will be seeking a refund from groupon.
