Spacious Rooms in the Heart of Fresno

As you drive into Fresno, California, you'll see a sign that says "the Best Little City in the USA." And for its relatively small size, Fresno has a pretty complex makeup: you can peruse the Armenian Heritage Museum or visit the local American Historical Society of Germans from Russia chapter, which represents an estimated 100,000 descendants in the Fresno/Madera region. There are also strong Basque, Lao, Mexican, and Chinese communities making their homes here as well.

Park Inn by Radisson Fresno is located within a couple miles of the city's Latino Cultural Center Arte Americas and the Armenian Heritage Museum. The hotel is a convenient base to explore these attractions, but also nearby Yosemite National Park.

Most of the spacious standard rooms face either the inner courtyard or the white-tented cabanas at the hotel's outdoor junior-Olympic-size pool. Feel free to lounge on a recliner and surf the channels on the 32-inch flat-screen TV, or play a high-risk game of hot potato with the bottle of wine included in some options. In the morning, guests gather for breakfast at Smuggler's Restaurant, located across from the lobby.

Fresno, California: Gateway to Yosemite and Historical Mansions

Located in central California about a 3.5-hour drive from Sacramento, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, Fresno is considered the gateway to Yosemite National Park, which is situated about one hour north of the hotel. Yosemite covers 1,200 square miles of waterfalls, giant sequoia trees, and towering granite cliffs, and it attracts thousands of visitors and several anvil-toting wily coyotes each year. Biking and hiking trails crisscross the park, and they can take you to Yosemite Falls, the Bridalveil Falls, and Tunnel View, Yosemite's well-known mountain lookout point. You can get an idea of Fresno's history during a walk through the Kearney Mansion, 7 miles west of downtown. Built in 1903 by Martin Theodore Kearney, a successful local businessman, the mansion was to be part of a larger complex influenced by France’s Chateau de Chenonceau. Kearney Mansion's distinctive French Renaissance style was achieved using materials indigenous to the area, as well as Victorian stock moldings. Today, the building retains more than half of its original furnishings.
