The links-style Dye course at PGA Village contains many flourishes characteristic of its designer, World Golf Hall of Famer Pete Dye. He throws in a scare right at the start, planting the tee box on hole 1 so it overlooks an intimidating sea of coquina waste bunkers and pine-straw roughs. But the rest of course is less threatening, with spacious landing areas and picturesque natural scenery from the surrounding Big Mamu Wetlands. And it's just one of three championship courses in the backyard of Florida's Perfect Drive Golf Villas, a resort designed to challenge and inspire golfers.
Like a home away from home, spacious one- and two-bedroom villas include full kitchens, private screened porches, and laundry rooms. Guests who stay in Pine Valley villas wake up within walking distance of the PGA Golf Club and can relax in whirlpool bathtubs after a round. On the other side of the resort, Castle Pines villas are located within a gated community with picnic areas and three heated, lagoon-style swimming pools.
Perfect Drive also sits adjacent to the PGA Golf Club's short golf course with six holes, where you can warm up for the other courses.
The rounds of golf included in options 3 and 4 are valid at a private golf course nearby; guests are welcome to purchase additional rounds on the three PGA Golf Club courses for an additional cost.
Port St. Lucie, Florida: Oceanfront Nature Preserves and World-Class Golf
Located near the Atlantic coast about 100 miles north of Miami, Port St. Lucie is lined with white-sand beaches that feel quieter and more laid-back than those in nearby Palm Beach. The area is also home to thousands of acres of parks and nature preserves, including Indian River Lagoon’s marshes and mangroves. About 20 minutes north in Fort Pierce, the Savannas Recreation Area evokes the Florida Everglades with five distinct biological communities, from wet prairies to pine flat woods.
Aside from ecotourism, Port St. Lucie’s main draw is golfing at PGA Village. Hailed as one of the 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America by Golf Digest , the resort features courses mapped out by golfing legends Tom Fazio and Pete Dye. Its onsite practice facility with bunkers simulates famous golf courses from around the world, including Pebble Beach and Doral's Blue Monster.
