Sail Around the San Juan Islands
Navigate between the San Juan Islands aboard the 50-foot sailboat, Hopscotch, on this 5-night trip from Sail Northwest Charters. Day 1: Sucia Island State Park
- Depart at: 2:00 p.m. from Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island.
- In-port activity: Guided hike at Sucia Island State Park, where 10 miles of trails lead to scenic outlooks with panoramic ocean views.
Day 2: Day 2: Roche Harbor and Garrison Bay
- Spot Dahl’s porpoises en route to Roche Harbor.
- Grab a coffee and homemade donuts from Lime Kiln Cafe at Roche Harbor Resort, where Teddy Roosevelt once stayed.
- Take a stroll to the five-acre art sculpture gardens or go on an optional guided kayak tour.
- Explore a historic English camp in Garrison Bay.
Day 3: Stuart Island
- Go whale-watching in Haro Straight: Orcas can often be spotted in these chilly waters.
