Located 1,000 miles off the coast of Portugal, the beautiful Azores islands are an isolated tropical oasis in the North Atlantic. Out of the nine main islands, São Miguel Island, the largest, is aptly dubbed the Green Island. The landscape is bursting with flora and fauna, hot springs, and lakes filling volcanic calderas. There’s also a renowned botanical gardens where you can see rare local plants, including sinuous indian rubber trees. Ponta Delgada, the island’s major city, draws much of the tourist traffic. The city’s cobblestone streets are lined with stately Baroque buildings, including the São Sebastião Catholic church, a 16th-century masterpiece with accents of rare brazilian wood and actual gold thread on the inside.

Terceira Island, located in the Azores archipelago and the second-most inhabited island of the Azores, features the Azores’ oldest city, Angra do Heroísmo, the historical capital of the archipelago and UNESCO World Heritage site. An ideal location for those with an affinity for the outdoors, the island boasts an array of activities, from golfing and fishing to scuba and whale-watching. Faial Island, or the blue island as it’s known, earned its nickname from not only the deep blues of the surrounding ocean waters, but also from the different colors of blue decorating local homes, dividing the fields, and lining the roadsides. Each person must buy a Groupon; price is based on two people traveling together and sharing a room. Additional fee to travel solo: $165 for a 6-night Sao Miguel & Terceira island vacation or $220 for an 8-night Sao Miguel, Terceira & Faial island vacation.

1. How much would it cost to fly from an airport not listed as part of this deal? A Groupon must be purchased from the available options. To add on a different airport to connect with the cities listed prices will vary with availability.

2. Can we extend our trip before or after the promotional dates for the deal? The offer is for the selected periods only. Azores Express cannot guarantee air availability or hotel accommodation outside of these periods.

4. What happens if I buy the Groupon and my travel dates are not available? Your Groupon will be refunded.

5. Does my child need a Groupon, and can they stay in my room? Yes, each person needs a Groupon except for infants (0–2 years of age). Infants receive free accommodation when sharing with two adults, additional flight costs apply, payable directly to Azores Express. One adult and one child can share the same room without additional fees. Two adults with one child must pay additional fee for extra bed; $162 for 6 nights and $215 for 8 nights. Rooms can accommodate up to 3 people.
