The B&B is a little bit off the beaten path, but the peaceful scenery and wildlife are well worth the drive. It is also roughly four miles from Deep Creek Lake, Wisp Ski Resort, and the community of McHenry. You can catch and release brook, brown, and rainbow trout in the Youghiogheny River, known locally as the Yock, across the lane. The river also features a paved and gated river walk and a woodland trail access. There's plenty of other picturesque scenery around such as a shady, densely-forested valley, waterfalls, and sunny open lawns.

Deep Creek Lake, Maryland: Picturesque Man-Made Lake with Fall and Winter Activities
Lush forests and gently rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see around Deep Creek Lake, the largest inland body of water in the state. The lake is home to numerous species of freshwater fish, including walleye, northern pike, and rainbow trout. Fishing is a popular activity all year long, with anglers switching to ice fishing in the winter, when the lake freezes to a depth of 18 inches.
Fall and winter are particularly beautiful seasons around Deep Creek Lake. Colorful fall foliage paints the landscape in vivid reds, yellows, and oranges. Fall colors peak in mid-October, but it's still worth it to take a scenic drive later on, along country roads that offer up stunning views of the lake from all angles. After the snow falls, visitors can head to Wisp Resort for downhill skiing on 32 trails. Or, they can stick around Deep Creek Lake for cross-country skiing, dog sledding, and ice skating.
