Family-Friendly Oceanfront Resort Close to Myrtle Beach
South Carolina's Grand Strand consists of more than 60 miles of uninterrupted, curving beachfront; it’s long been a vacation playground. Myrtle Beach, the Grand Strand's highlight, has several waterfront amusement parks, more than 100 golf courses, and multiple family-friendly beaches. Just 5 miles south of here, Surfside Beach Resort fronts its own private swath of beach. The property is ranked No. 1 of 5 resorts in Surfside Beach by TripAdvisor.
All of the resort's guest rooms have views of the Atlantic. Each deluxe ocean-view guest room comes with two queen beds and a private, furnished balcony from which you can see Surfside Beach below.
At the resort's oceanfront Scotty's Beach Bar, you can sip a cool drink on a covered patio; the bar also has seasonal live entertainment and hosts a regular karaoke night. This Groupon also includes 10% off at River City Cafe and Bubba's Fish Shack, both of which are less than a block away.
South Carolina's Grand Strand: Wide Beaches and Historic Resort Communities
Surfside Beach, locally known as the "family beach," is situated between Myrtle Beach and Pawleys Island on South Carolina's coast. You won't have to wander far from the hotel to find things to do—the resort town is lined with places to rent jet skis and pontoon boats, a pier for fishing, and restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Pawleys Island, south of the hotel, is much more understated by comparison. The long-established resort has welcomed the likes of George Washington and Winston Churchill since the late 1700s. Today, the community still moves at the languid pace of the Old South thanks in part to a ban on commercial development and a ban on running very fast. Head here for the popular handicraft shops and to view the architecture in the historic district.
