My husband and I had such a great time at tahoma meadows this year. We try to make it up there at least once a year during the off season. This year was tremendously fun enjoying the down time around lake and taking in the breathtaking fall colors. The staff at tahoma meadows are always really welcoming and sweet. Jeff didn't mind making wonderful breakfasts for my husband and the only occupants.

Hotel at a Glance: Tahoma Meadows Bed & Breakfast Cottages

  • Cottage amenities: Each cottage is unique, but all have fireplaces, private entrances, and private baths.
  • Family-style breakfast and afternoon snacks are served in the common room daily.
  • Traveling with animals? The B&B won a “Golden Bone” award for its pet-friendly services.

Lake Tahoe’s West Shore: Quiet Retreat amid Acres of Forests

The west shore of Lake Tahoe is relatively undeveloped compared to the bustling north and south shores. At Sugar Pine State Park, you can embark on hikes or go swimming and bicycling along the lakefront. Head to nearby Emerald Bay State Park for a bird’s-eye view of the lake from an outcropping high above the water. When the weather’s warm, a moderately easy hike to the base of Lower Eagle Falls reveals breathtaking views.

In the winter, the north side of Lake Tahoe stays busy thanks to one of the largest concentrations of ski resorts in North America. Most of the action is split between Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows and the more low-key Homewood Mountain Resort.

Writing this review is a long time coming, as we stayed in 2019. But the hosts were awesome, the breakfast great, and the kids loved the experience and the hammocks and the stuffed bears in the cottage. We want to come stay again and hope to see another Groupon for this place pop up! 4 stars because the cabin is basic - 3 stars - but the service is 5 stars -- so I averaged it. :-)

The best part was the very pet friendly atmosphere and the great breakfast that was included. The only negative was the fact that we were not made aware that there would be someone staying in our cabin above us. That proved to be a bit noisy.
