The Darby Field Inn is located in an extremely beautiful and peaceful spot. The accommodations were great (our room even had a private balcony, with small table and two chairs, and a view of mountains in the distance), the included breakfast fantastic. It is just off the Kancamagus Highway, with easy access to hiking trails, but also close to North Conway. One can enjoy "both worlds", so to speak.

Converted from an 1826 farmhouse, this romantic inn offers fine dining and beautiful views of the White Mountains

Most rooms at The Darby Field Inn offer views of the surrounding White Mountains, a picturesque region in eastern New Hampshire marked by rolling hills and forested peaks. The blue bed and breakfast, built as a farmhouse in 1826, is set amid award-winning gardens and 10 miles of wooded trails. After a day exploring the great outdoors, you can cozy up in the living room or enjoy a hearty meal in the mountain-view dining room.

  • Signature dinner entrees: roasted rack of lamb with fresh herbs and dijon mustard, and crisp roasted duckling served with a homemade raspberry Chambord purée
  • A house with a history: The building served as an artists’ colony, a children’s camp, and a blacksmith shop before being converted into a bed and breakfast.
  • Truffles, champagne, and snowshoeing are included in this deal.

Albany, New Hampshire: Remote Town in the White Mountains

The little town of Albany (population: roughly 700) is tucked away in New England’s picturesque White Mountains. The region is home to Mount Chocorua, considered by many to be the most photographed mountain in the northeast. Standing 3,500 feet tall, it’s also one of the most popular hiking destinations, thanks to a range of moderate open trails and rewarding views of Mount Washington and the Sandwich Range from the summit.

Downhill skiers and snowboarders flock to the area in the winter. Just 9 miles from the inn you’ll find Cranmore Mountain Resort, which has 57 trails and numerous terrain parks. At the base of Cranmore Mountain, there’s a tubing park with 10 lanes and a tow lift to save you from trudging up the mountain with your inner tube.

Amazing place, relaxing, serene and quiet. We came here a week before Memorial weekend, from NY. We definitely had a great time and we're planning to come back here again. Thumbs up!
