Family-Friendly Condo Resort Located 5 Miles from Disney World
As you might expect from a resort located within 10 miles of both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, a family-friendly spirit prevails at Tuscana Resort Orlando. Many of the amenities are the kinds of things best enjoyed in a multigenerational group: a pool, barbecue pits, picnic tables, and even a 30-seat movie theater. Likewise, Tuscana’s spacious condos have enough room to accommodate the whole gang, and each boasts a slew of creature comforts to make everybody feel at home.
The resort’s exterior is Mediterranean in style, with white stucco, an orange tiled roof, and multiple archways. At the center of things lies a large pool surrounded by a hot tub and lounge chairs. There's also a shallow kiddie pool equipped with a bubbling fountain. Nearby, an open-air sports bar leads into the Tavern Restaurant, which serves hearty pub fare such as USDA Choice beef burgers and English-style fish ‘n’ chips.
The roomy two- and three-bedroom condos range in size from 1,100 to 1,300 square feet. Each features a fully equipped kitchen and an in-unit washer and dryer. A screened-in porch makes a nice spot for enjoying the fresh air and watching out for local wildlife, such as wild Mouseketeers.
Champions Gate, Florida: Sun-Drenched Community near Orlando’s Many Amusement Parks
Located southwest of Orlando, Champions Gate is surrounded by central Florida's biggest attractions. It's 5 miles from Disney World, 8 miles from SeaWorld, and 10 miles from Universal Studios. At the latter’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you can peruse Zonko's Joke Shop, sip butterbeer at Three Broomsticks, and speed through the sky on the Flight of the Hippogriff ride.
Orlando may be known for its amusement parks, but its dining scene is also starting to garner attention. Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse and James Beard Award –winner Norman Van Aken both have restaurants here. Many local eateries offer fresh seafood from the Atlantic and incorporate the flavors of Caribbean nations such as Cuba and Jamaica.
