Explore the Temecula Valley Wine Country by Balloon
California's Temecula Valley has been a center for wine production for hundreds of years, beginning with the Franciscan padres at Mission San Juan Capistrano. The valley is now an official American Viticultural Area (AVA). Located 500 miles south of San Francisco, Temecula's comparably warmer climate is best suited for growing grapes such as the Rhône varietals, including cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel.
Sunrise Balloon Flight Over the Valley
For 45–60 minutes, you'll soar over the early-morning Temecula Valley in a hot-air balloon to get an incomparable view of the sunrise. There will be a preflight reception with coffee, champagne, and orange juice at Monte De Oro Winery before you enjoy a champagne picnic amid the clouds.
Throughout the trip, your host will snap more than 100 photos that will be uploaded to Facebook. You'll be picked up from and dropped off at Tuscany Hills Resort and Spa in a limo coach. The balloon flight is subject to weather conditions, such as fog and heavy heat.
The Hotel: Tuscany Hills Resort
You'll spend the night at the Italian countryside-inspired Tuscany Hills Resort and Spa, just 40 minutes north of San Diego. Depending on the option chosen, you'll slumber in a deluxe mini suite or deluxe king mini suite. Each suite is outfitted with French doors, free WiFi, and a private patio or balcony with views of the adjacent 18-hole, PGA golf course.
This Groupon also includes a complimentary bottle of champagne at check-in.
In your spare time, you can relax at any of four cascading outdoor soaking pools, which are heated between 90 and 104 degrees, or take some laps in the large swimming pool. Swedish and deep-tissue massages are offered at the spa, too.
