Off-limits to most American travelers for years, Cuba’s still as culturally rich and naturally beautiful as it was when your grandparents honeymooned there in the ’40s. On this 5-day guided people-to-people educational tour from Vacation Express, you’ll spend your days meeting the nation’s citizens and immersing yourself in their arts, architecture, and even agriculture. At night, you’ll retire to your comfortable room at the 4-star Memories Miramar Havana. This tour includes:

Itinerary at a Glance
- Day 1: You’ll arrive in Havana and embark on your first tour of the city with visits to the Malecón, Revolution Square, and the National Capitol Building. In the evening, you’ll share your first group dinner at La Casa Paladar. (Tour: 4–8 p.m.)
- Day 2: You’ll start today by meeting professors at the University of Havana for discussion about the nation’s education system. The rest of the day focuses on arts: you’ll meet young acrobats and circus performers and see the studio of renowned sculptor Jose Rodriguez Fuster.
- Day 3: Today finds you in Old Havana, location of some of the country’s most iconic colonial architecture. While you’re here, you’ll tour the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana and visit the artisans and sellers of the San Jose Craft Market.
- Day 4: On your last full day in Cuba, you’ll head out to the country, stopping by an overlook of the breathtaking Viñales Valley (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Afterward you’ll visit a tobacco farm, cruise an underground river, and see the iconic multicolored wooden homes of Viñales.
- Day 5: Explore options for additional people-to-people interactions at your leisure before leaving for the airport.
