  • Day 4: Go sightseeing in Cusco before your overnight flight home.

8-Day Itinerary

  • Day 1 Depart the US.

  • Day 2: Arrive in Cusco and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
  • Day 3: Enjoy either a half-day city tour during the afternoon or a full-day excursion to the Urubamba Valley.
  • Day 4: Begin your journey on the Insca Trail, where you’ll cover 12 km of the trail, crossing the Vilcanota River and traveling through the Incan Fortress and Urubamba mountain range.
  • Day 5: After an early breakfast, you’ll take a steep ascent towards the highest pass along the Inca Trail, called the “Abra de Warrmihuanusca”, or “Dead Woman’s Pass.” After lunch, you’ll begin the second two-hour steep climb towards Runkuraqay pass, making your way to the campsite by dusk.
  • Day 6: Start the day with a visit to the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca, also known as the “Town in the Clouds.” You’ll then make your way to the campsite at Winay Wayna.
  • Day 7: The final day of the journey begins early in the morning as you make your way to Inti Punku, also known as the “Sun gate” of Machu Picchu. Once you make it to Machu Picchu, you’ll be guided on a two-hour walking tour, enjoy lunch, and then board a train back to Cusco.
  • Day 8: Depart Cusco for flight home.
