The Itinerary

9-day/7-Night Delhi, Agra, & Jaipur vacation

Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrival Delhi. Check-in time is 14400 hrs.

Day 2: Delhi
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning sightseeing tour of the Old City of ‘Shahjahanabad’. Your introduction to the city will start with a visit to Raj Ghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, drive past the Red Fort the magical monument in red sandstone built at the pinnacle of the Mughal Empire. From here proceed by bicycle rickshaws through the bustling streets to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in Asia built by Shahjahan.
Afternoon: Sightseeing tour of New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. You will visit the hidden stepwell Agrasen ki Baoli and Humayun’s tomb, the first great example of a new distinctive style, which developed to become the hallmark of the Mughal Dynasty. The tour also includes a drive past the imposing India Gate (War Memorial Arch), the Parliament buildings and the Rashtrapati Bhawan (the President’s residence).

Day 3: Delhi - Agra
After breakfast drive to Agra (approx. 205 kms/4-5 hours).
Evening visit Mehtab Bagh to have glimpse of Taj Mahal from the backdrop of river Yamuna.

Day 4: Agra
Sunrise visit to Taj Mahal (Remains closed on Friday)
Early this morning, proceed on a spectacular sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal, celebrated for its architectural magnificence and aesthetic beauty. Emperor Shah Jahan built this exquisite white marble mausoleum for his favourite queen Mumtaz Mahal. The monument was commissioned in 1631 and took 20,000 artisans, 22 years to complete. Witness the dramatic interplay of light as the sun rises and casts its golden rays over the pearl white tomb, recreating the magic of the Taj.
In the afternoon, visit the impressive Agra Fort whose buildings, made of red sandstone and marble, are a mix of Hindu and Islamic architecture followed by a visit to the ornate tomb of Itamud-ud-Daulah.

Day 5: Agra – Jaipur
Today, after breakfast transfer by road to Jaipur (250 Km/ 5-6 Hours approx.). Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri.
Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an impressive historical city located near Agra, India. Built in the late 16th century by Mughal Emperor Akbar, it served as his capital for a brief period.

Day 6: Jaipur

Morning visit to Amber town with a brief photo stop at Hawa Mahal
An exciting day awaits you as begin your sightseeing tour with a photo visit at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five-storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires. The town around Amber Fort consists of beautiful small temples and a step well called Panna Meena. Amer was a flourishing settlement originally occupied by the Meena tribe. Explore this atmospheric ancient town as you pass numerous local shops selling traditional sweets, historic temples, havelis, and water harvesting structures amidst the natural beauty of Aravali Mountain range with your guide. Continue your sightseeing tour with a visit to the fabulous Amber Fort. Visit the magnificent 17th-century hilltop fort of Amber and the sparkling Mirror Palace.

Afternoon: Sightseeing tour of Jaipur- Explore the exquisite City Palace, a synthesis of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles, consisting of an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces. The Museum has a collection of Rajasthani costumes, armory of Mughals and Rajputs including swords of different shapes and sizes with chiseled handles. Also visit the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar Observatory, a stone astrological and astronomical wonder built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century.

Day 7: Jaipur - Delhi
Drive back to Delhi this afternoon (5 hours) for an overnight stay at an airport hotel.

Today you will be transferred to Delhi International Airport (DEL) for your onward flight.

Enjoy morning and evening game drives in Ranthambore National Park in search of the elusive Royal Bengal tiger. You will also get an opportunity to see other animals including leopard, sloth bear, sambar deer, chital, nilgai, black buck, langur, and macaque. (Core zone is closed to jungle safaris from 01st July till 30th September, however safaris are open in buffer zone)

Day 9: Ranthambore – Delhi
Option: Morning game drive.
