The journey then moves to Agra for a mandatory sunrise visit to the breathtaking Taj Mahal and the impressive Agra Fort, often including a stop at the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri en route to Jaipur. Finally, you'll spend multiple days in the "Pink City," Jaipur, climbing the majestic Amber Fort (perhaps via jeep or elephant ride), admiring the facade of the Hawa Mahal, and delving into the royal history at the City Palace and the astronomical wonder of Jantar Mantar, before concluding the trip with vibrant local market visits and a return to Delhi.

Itinerary

• Day 1: Overnight Fly from US Airports to Delhi

• Day 2: Arrive Delhi Welcome to Delhi! Following customs, immigration formalities, and baggage collection, our representative will meet you as you exit the arrival terminal building. Do look for a signboard in your name, after which you will be transferred to your hotel for a 2-night stay. The check-in time is 1400 hours. The rest of the day is at leisure to unwind and relax in the comforts of your hotel or explore the town on your own. (No vehicle at disposal). Overnight at the hotel – Delhi

• Day 3: Delhi Buffet breakfast at the hotel

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and proceed on a guided tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi. In Old Delhi, drive past the Red Fort. Continue a fun cycle rickshaw ride through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, where you can savour the sights, smells, and sounds of the fabled streets. A short walk in the narrow bylanes is full of legends and unfolds many historic tales of Shajahanabad. See the quaint shops with incredible wares from food stalls to jewellery.

Later in the afternoon, get ready to explore imperial Delhi. Drive past the imposing India Gate (War Memorial Arch), Parliament buildings, Rashtrapati Bhawan (the President’s residence), and visit a step well in very close vicinity of India Gate, “Agrasen ki Baoili”. Later, drive to visit Gandhi Smriti, where Mahatma Gandhi spent his last 144 days in this mansion and today it is converted into a National Memorial (Closed on Monday). End the tour with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed tomb of Emperor Humayun. The tomb was the first garden tomb in the Indian subcontinent, a wonderful example of early Mughal architecture. • Day 4: Delhi – Jaipur After buffet breakfast, drive to the Royal city of Jaipur (265 km/6 hrs drive). This walled Rajasthani capital is famous for the unusual rose-colored sandstone architecture that gives the city its nickname, the Pink City. Jaipur- The vibrant capital of Rajasthan is popularly known as the 'Pink City' because of the pink colored buildings in its old quarters. On arrival in Jaipur, check into the hotel for your stay of 2 nights.

Late afternoon, visit the Laxmi temple Narayan (Birla temple), where prayers to the gods are made every day at sunset (without a guide).

• Day 5: Jaipur Buffet breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Excursion to Amber Fort. Visit the fabulous Amber Fort. En route, halt for a photo stop at the intriguing red sandstone Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five-storied wonder with an incredible pyramidal façade, overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes, and spires. Crowning the crest of a hill, the Fort offers a view of Maota Lake, and the historic old town located at the base of the hill, which formed the early seat of the Amber kings before the fort was made their capital.

Afternoon is free for shopping

Optional available: Walk through old city markets - Bapu Bazaar or Johri Bazaar and enjoy a traditional sweet at a renowned sweetshop (duration: 2 to 3 hrs) Sound & light show at Amber Fort (1700-1930 hrs, time varies in summer and winter)

Morning: Sightseeing tour of Jaipur- Morning visit the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar Observatory, a stone astrological and astronomical wonder built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century. Afternoon is free

Optional available: Explore the exquisite City Palace & its museum with a guide (90 minutes/ start time 1400-End time 1600 hrs) Cooking demonstration with an Indian family followed by a meal (either lunch or dinner) (Duration: 3 to 4 hours) Shopping tour in Jaipur with a guide: Jaipur is famous for its pashminas, fabrics, rugs and semi-precious stones. • Day 7: Jaipur – Abhaneri – Agra After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Jaipur en route, visit the village of Abhaneri, believed to have been established by the King Raja Chand. Explore the 17th-century ruins and hear the theories about why the village was deserted by its residents 300 years ago. Also admire the 1,000-year-old Chand Baori stepwell, famed for its precise geometrical pattern (without a guide)

Following the sightseeing tour, continue driving to the Mughal city of Agra. On arrival in Agra, check into your hotel for a stay of 1 night. Agra- The city of Agra, the quintessence of the grand Mughal era, reigns to this day in the public mind as the embodiment of royal grace, imposing architecture, and power. No tour to India can be complete without paying a visit to this erstwhile capital of the Mughals and the city of the Taj Mahal, the world's most beloved monument.

• Day 8: Agra Early this morning, proceed on a spectacular sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday), celebrated for its architectural magnificence and aesthetic beauty. Emperor Shah Jahan built this exquisite white marble mausoleum for his favourite queen, Mumtaz Mahal. The monument was commissioned in 1631 and took 20,000 artisans, 22 years to complete. Witness the dramatic interplay of light as the sun rises and casts its golden rays over the pearl white tomb, recreating the magic of the Taj.

Return to hotel for breakfast. Afternoon is free. Optional available:
