Gainesville Raceway isn't just a racetrack, it's a place where history is made. Considered one of the fastest tracks on the National Hot Rod Association circuit, it was here that drivers clocked the first 260-, 270-, and 300-mph Top Fuel runs, and here that it's believed drivers will go fast enough to read their own bumper stickers. Opened in 1969, the track hosts drag races, car shows, and vehicle testing for law-enforcement training, high-performance driving schools, and amateur testing and tuning. Spectators to a thrilling race can cheer from the grandstands or spring for a spot in the VIP skyboxes, which boast air-conditioning, closed-circuit TV, and a top speed that matches the rotational velocity of the Earth.
