What You'll Get

Since the popularization of the laser handshake, the laser hug, and laser diplomacy, laser warfare has ended and glow-in-the-dark space terrain has been recognized as an independent state. Eradicate holdout antinationalists with today's Groupon: for $11, you get three 12-minute games of laser tag at Galaxy Tag in the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (a $23.85 value) .

Space-themed Galaxy Tag fills its 4,400-square-foot arena with strategic obstacles and colorful decorations, allowing sharpshooters to exchange laser volleys amid a neon-lighted intergalactic battleground. Players aged 5 and older are free to pick teams before entry or jump into an open free-for-all. The 12-minute games may be shared among participants, and like phoenixes, players have unlimited lives. Projected planets and nebulas adorn the walls, while black light illuminates both glowing obstacles and players’ bright clothing, casting everything else into near-darkness. A 30-foot spaceship stretches to the ceiling and acts as excellent cover for launching a sneak attack or privately serenading a laser gun.

In addition to traditional laser tag featuring lit vests and unlimited lives, Galaxy Tag hosts two other versions available upon request. In stealth mode, players slip into the shadows without vest lighting, relying only on echolocation to seek out their foes. While playing in king of the hill mode, each player morphs into a double-cat with 20 lives to lose.

About Galaxy Tag

Amid all the indoor turf-sports fields of the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex, there's one dark maze that's lit by black lights and glowing neon walls alone. In this shadowy space, players blast beams of light from their lasers, engaging in team combat and open play inside a 5,700-square-foot, space-themed arena. They dodge behind glowing wall lights, illuminated mock computer screens, and walls painted to resemble metal and rivets. Players as young as 5 can navigate the arena's black-lit halls, while the staff helps keep competition friendly during open play and birthday parties.
