What You'll Get
Photographs provide a more concrete way of recording recollections than sketching portraits in sand or dictating memoirs to an empty jam jar. Preserve precious memories with today's Groupon at Gallery Photography in Bountiful. Choose from the following classes:

- For $69, you get a four-hour intermediate photography workshop (a $150 value).
- For $79, you get a four-hour advanced photography workshop (a $199 value).
Gallery Photography imparts savvy snapshot knowhow onto photography pupils of all ages, skill levels, and literary tastes. Master photographers oversee courses for novice photographers, intermediate memory memorializers, and advanced shutterbugs alike. Enjoy the energetic and pressure-free learning environment, which is ideal for perfecting tilt shift techniques and methods of coaxing ghosts into smiling for their portraits. All classes explore the nooks and crannies of digital SLR (single lens reflex) cameras in order to better capture the happiness, fun, and love of timeless moments between family and friends.
The introductory course is not too technical, but provides effective and easy-to-remember tips on composition, lighting, and not covering the lens with a finger, dramatically improving the quality of your shots. Instructors recommend you have a 50mm f/1.8 lens with your D-SLR camera, as you will actually be shooting during the learning process. The intermediate course helps those versed in aperture and shutter speeds, white balancing, ISO, camera features, and compositional rules take their photography to the next level. Advanced courses welcome snap-shotters proficient in all camera settings, learned in lenses, and experienced in compositional rules to push themselves to explore the technical aspects of photography, such as light diffusing, light subtraction, posing, and how to create natural-looking imagery without having to sculpt wax renderings of happy children and dancing trees. Intermediate and advanced soul stealers should bring their D-SLR cameras, set of lenses and flashes, and fanny packs made of film to the session. Check the schedule and call to reserve a spot in class.

About Gallery Photography
When he's behind the camera, Kelly avoids posing his subjects; instead, he thrives on composing playful, candid shots in vibrant color and classic black-and-white. As the owner of Gallery Photography, he's applied this approach to in-studio and on-location photo shoots with families and children as well as weddings. Inside his charming brick studio, he also passes on what he knows through hands-on workshops focused on manual photography techniques or editing with Adobe Photoshop.
