As the Gothamist put it, "Gambrinus has atmosphere coming out the wazoo." And they were right—the entire restaurant, inside and out, is infused with the spirit of a ship captained by a Russian beer enthusiast, decorated with nautical kitsch and staffed by servers in questionably seaworthy outfits. As such, the appetizers and entrees include ethnic salutes to Mother Russia, but also contemporary takes on seafood, as well as an impressive selection of sushi. As Gambrinus was the patron saint of beer, you'd be doing yourself a disservice to miss the beer list, which includes a wide selection of German imports.
