About GameFly
Not long ago, renting a video game meant going to a rental store, sifting through unorganized shelves, and getting slapped with late fees. In 2002, GameFly turned that process on its head with a subscription service that allows subscribers to rent one or more video games at the same time, with no due dates, late fees, or shipping charges.
How It Works
GameFly keeps its library stocked with more than 9,000 video games and movies, including numerous copies of nearly every new release as well as many older, back-catalog games. Subscribers simply select titles on the GameFly website or app and receive them via First-Class mail. After they're finished playing, they return the rentals by dropping them into one of GameFly's prepaid mailers or sliding it between the toes of their most reliable carrier pigeon.
Extras
Another major GameFly perk: gamers get the chance to try before they buy, meaning subscribers can actually choose to keep the game they're currently renting. Subscribers can also browse a robust collection of new and used games for sale on GameFly's website, which carries everything from the latest best sellers to bargain-bin classics. GameFly also offers Blu-ray and DVD movie rentals.
